RIT Croatia Digital Marketing Plan

While studying abroad at RIT Croatia, I worked on a semester-long project focused on improving the university’s digital marketing efforts. The goal was to take a deep look at their current strategy and come up with practical ideas to help them better connect with students in the Croatian market.

As a global student, this was definitely a challenge. I didn’t know much about the local higher ed system or which types of marketing work here. But I saw it as a chance to learn and grow. I started by auditing all of RIT Croatia’s social media: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube, paying close attention to what was working and what wasn’t.

From that, I put together a set of recommendations, including:

  • More consistent content scheduling

  • Using trends that are popular in Croatia (especially on TikTok and Instagram)

  • Messaging that speaks to local students

  • A more consistent tone and style across platforms

  • New campaign ideas to boost engagement and brand awareness

This project pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me get better at adapting my marketing skills to a new audience. It was a great experience, and I’m proud of how much I learned along the way.
