Delta Sigma Pi

Delta Sigma Pi (DSP) is a professional business fraternity that helps students grow through leadership, networking, and a strong sense of brotherhood. At RIT, our chapter, Epsilon Lambda, emphasizes professional development, community service, and fostering lasting connections among members.

I joined DSP in my first semester at RIT and quickly got involved as Marketing Chair. I instantly felt welcomed and loved being part of such a close-knit group. By the end of my first year, I stepped up as Senior Vice President, unexpectedly, but with full commitment. Taking on that role as a sophomore was a big responsibility, but I devoted my time and energy to it. That semester, we had our most successful recruitment yet, with over 30 applicants and 12 new members. I also started a new tradition to celebrate Founder’s Day and worked to keep our brotherhood culture strong throughout the year.

Being Vice President was stressful, but it was also one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. I had the opportunity to plan two recruitments, bring in so many new brothers, and gain a whole new group of lifelong friends. Everyone always talks about how important networking is in business, and this brotherhood has made it easier than ever. One of my favorite things is having an instant connection with anyone who mentions “DSP.” The brotherhood extends beyond just your chapter.

Looking back, it’s incredible to see how much I’ve grown through this role, both professionally and personally. The support and encouragement I’ve received from my brothers have made every challenge worth it. I’m incredibly grateful to be part of such a supportive and inspiring group of individuals. DSP has pushed me to grow as a leader and as a person, and I can’t wait to continue contributing as Banquet chair 2025-2026.

This was our invite-only event for Fall 2024 recruitment, and it turned out to be one of the most fun and engaging ways to connect. We grouped potential new members and brothers into random teams and gave them a simple challenge: build a bridge using only miscellaneous craft materials. After some creative (and chaotic) building, the bridges were judged, and a winner was announced.

It was a great way to break the ice and get people working together. The activity naturally brought out teamwork, quick thinking, and problem-solving skills that reflect what DSP is all about. More importantly, it helped spark real conversations and connections between potential new members and our brotherhood.
